Eastward hey!!--moped along the top of Arkansas--arriving at Mountain Home--ending up at a Corps of Engineers campground on Norfolk lake. Beautiful spot--heard the loon call---that did it!!!-- we stayed for another day. Weather warm--too hot--80--and sunny. But like all good things--it had to end, so headed out again, --across the top of Arkansas, into Missouri for a short time--then into Tennessee. A beautiful trip, through rolling hills, green pastures with cows grazing and trees in bloom, red bud, cherry, and magnolia--so nice to see green--we realized that inspite of the wonderful things we had seen for the last 3 months-we had not seen 'green'!!! Today we came north through the 'Land of the Lakes', ambling along the 'trace'-- part in Tennessee and the other half in Kentucky stopping at The Home Place--an 1830-50s' farm. They were shearing sheep, cooking, etc--much like Upper Canada Village only on a much smaller scale. Neat to see-as their houses were made to catch every breeze to keep cool--they weren't worried about the cold. I didn't enjoy that much!!! (haha) Would love to volunteer there someday!! This will probably be my last post on our incredible trip---we have to be in Elkhart, Indiana on Tues to have some things done on the 5th wheel--then will head for John and Jerri's for Easter---then home to Clayton on Tuesday. Thank you for following along on our travels--it really has been quite the trip. Neil and Beth

Monday April 7
Left Colorado Springs in a huff--after cleaning the snow off the slides---right then decided that as well as heading east we were going south!!! Crossed a bit of Kansas, and headed to Oklahoma. We are now at the north east corner of OK--sitting beside the 'Grand Lake of the Cherokee's', and for the first time in about a month we have sat outside and enjoyed the warm weather. We are about 100' above the lake so we have a great view. We will stay here until Wed or Thurs and then head out--but I guess we better go only east this time.

Colorado April 3rd
Into Colorado Monday morning--lovely trip (1st pic) --you'll notice there's more snow in the mountains!! Drove into Colorado Springs looking for a visitors center--and ended up at the Garden of the Gods. They call this the mini Sedona--red sandstone rocks and white alabaster. Hiking trails all through them. Yesterday (Wed) we met with a couple that we had met in Big Bend Park--had kept in touch at Xmas--but hadn't seen in 8 years. We saw more wonderful sites-- climbed a mile long hiking trail up for a great view of the area, climbed around hanging rock, drove thru tunnels--just had a great day--ending a great day with dinner at a Mexican restaurant and playing pool at their home(we won--they let us!!) Now ---this is what we woke up this morning to!!! UGH
